Hobbies/Interests
I began quilting to be with my mother when she was aging, but it quickly became an important pursuit for me. I know enjoy quilting with my daughter.
I have worked my entire professional life in the non-profit world. Was a Director for United Way, Director for Northland Community Fund (a branch of the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation), and President/CEO of Synergy Services for seven years. Synergy Services includes a shelter for runaway and homeless youth and family counseling services primarily for sex abuse victims. It was a challenging and wonderful position. My husband and I opened the Midwest's largest science store in 2004. Also challenging! We just sold the store in January of this year. I am back working in the non-profit world as a Project Manager and Program Specialist for the Region 7 Office of Head Start. John is retired and currently writing a book. He is a chemist and his career focused on research and development of products for the aquarium and aquaculture industry. We have lived in Parkville, Missouri for 30 years.
