Katherine Elaine Tobin, 63, of Overland Park, KS, passed away on January 16, 2011, after a courageous three year battle with pancreatic cancer. Elaine was her tender heart and her loving, cheerful personality - Elaine never knew a stranger. She was a dedicated and loving wife and mother. She was a great friend to all who knew her. She and Bob recently celebrated 44 years of marriage. Elaine was preceded in death by her father, Wesley Cox. She leaves her husband, Bob Tobin; sons: Mike (Janet) Tobin of San Diego, CA and Matt Tobin of Overland Park, KS; mother, Mary Jane Cox of Overland Park, KS; brother, Chuck (Cheri) Cox of Overland Park, KS; nephews: Jim and John Stevens, Taylor and Jordan Cox; as well as her extended family, Mary K. Stuart, and step-sisters, Joyce, Pat and Pam.

Elaine and I used to be good friends in grade school. She and I attended Camp Towanyak (Camp Fire Girls) together for several years. The thing I remember most about Elaine was her fun personality. She giggled and smiled all the time.

I remember Bob and Elaine At West and they made a GREAT couple. I ran into them at one of the reunions and found out they had continued their relationship by marrying one another. It was great to seen them.
I just got this web page and was so sad to see that she had passed. My thoughts and prayers go out to Bob and Elaine's family!
