Cheryl A. Yates, 72, passed away February 24, 2019. . 

Cheryl was born January 20, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois. She graduated college from KU and then became a cafeteria manager with the Shawnee Mission School District and spent most of her 24 years at East Antioch Elementary School. She was very active in PTA’s and scouting.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Shirley Frietsch.

Cheryl is survived by her husband of 44 years, Joe; daughter, Sara Yates (fiancé Marc Dunham); son, Tom (Tarah) Yates; grandchildren, Abby, Joe, Taylor, and Cooper; sister, Susan (Scott) Varner; nieces, Kim Stark (Brandon), Kristin Birdsong (Chris); great nieces, Olivia, Aubrey, Addalyn, and Emma; as well as numerous cousins.
