Russ was a good friend of mine. We both worked at the orginal French Market while in H.S.  Then after graduation he went into USAF 6 months before I did!  We went to the same bases only in reverse order!  I went to Tenn(near Nashville) then Taiwan/Viet Nam then Japan/VietNam.  He went to Japan/Vietnam, Taiwan/Viet Nam then to Tenn. Amazing how we kept in touch!  Same units also!! We both stayed in aviation the rest of our careers.  Always crossed paths ( flight paths)!!

Russell was a great guy and I considered him a good buddy. I really wasn't aware of his journey after high school. If anyone can fill in more of the blanks on him, I'd appreciate it.

Russ, was a wonderful guy and friend.  I think everyone in our class must have worked at the French Market.  I worked in groceries and loved chasing/retrieving carts from Metcalf, particularly on cold, windy, icy nights.  The money was good.  A dollar an hour and all the work you could handle.

Russ worked for Lockheed in Saudi Arabia for several years after he left the Air Force. Following that, he moved to Arizona and worked as a mechanic for major airlines. He married but had no children. Two years ago he died of a sudden heart attack. I married his older brother Robert.

I did not know Russ, just saw him in the halls of West. Sounds like a solid guy and friend to my friends. Yep, I worked at the French Market little cafe for a very short time- .75 an hour was just not worth it as a bus boy. I remember seeing the tornado form on 95th street just west of Antioch, a block from my church, Westbrooke Bapt Church. The tornado took out 3 or 4 houses across the street from an elementary school that was just about to dismiss the kids from school for the day.
